Who are we?
And why Labs?
Let me take a minute to introduce you to our family and explain just how and why we decided to embark on this dog breeding journey!
My husband Glenn and I (Emily) have been married since 2010. We haven't been able to have children, so our pets have filled that role in our family. Currently we share our home with five Labs - Piper, Mae, Brooks, Quinn, and Harper, a German Shepherd - Murphy, three cats - Thomas, Lilly, and Kody, and a flock of chickens! Our dogs are the center of our world and believe me, they know it! They enjoy playing ball in the yard and venturing down the dirt road to the creek where they would swim for hours if we let them! They also love going for car rides to their favorite store in town and to visit my parent's house (where Nana and Papa spoil them rotten!). We would be lost without our dogs, and I can guarantee you that our puppies are just as loved and spoiled as our adult dogs are!
Glenn served in the US Air Force for several years in Wyoming before we returned home to Pennsylvania where he now works for the state. I currently work full time at an insurance company in the Claims Department, though my dream is to be able to stay home with my dogs. We love hiking, camping, (basically anything involving the outdoors!), sports (especially Penn State Football, Collegiate Wrestling, and Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey), photography, and traveling among other various interests/hobbies. And of course, any activity is so much better if we can bring the dogs along!
Growing up I always had a passion for animals. Cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, fish, frogs, hamsters, mice, birds... You name it and I adored it. We always had at least one pet in the house and I still remember the day we welcomed our first dog to the family. Brittany. She was a beautiful Cocker Spaniel that was by far the best dog a little girl could ask for, but for as long as I can remember another breed of dog had stolen my heart. My first memories of Labs involve long summer days in the woods behind my best friend's house exploring and hiking and adventuring into the "great unknown" with her ever faithful black Lab padding along behind us, watching our every move and protecting us from all the dangers that we could have run into. He was a constant comfort for us, knowing that he was always there made the world seem just a little less big. I begged and pleaded with my parents for a Lab, but they felt a larger dog was not the right fit for our family and so I was left with only a dream. But what a dream that has been!
I never expected this "puppy-love" to develop into such a strong passion for this breed, but as I grew older and started my own family, the pieces began to fall into place. I married the love of my life, and it just so happened that he too, loved the Labrador breed. We broke down and bought our first Lab puppy from an "oopsie" litter that was advertised in a local newspaper, and I fell in love all over again. She was the epitome of what I loved about Labs, and it didn't take long for me to start doing some in-depth research into the breed. My childhood dream of owning a Lab had officially blossomed into a very real desire to share these wonderful dogs with the world. It has taken years for us to be able to see this dream of ours come true, but we are so excited that we have finally been able to make it a reality!
